The legendary couple, Don and Phyllis Munday, made history exploring unmapped mountains in B.C. in the early 1920's. Nearly a century later, a team of six men and one woman attempt to recreate the 1926 route first explored by the Munday's to Mount Waddington: the highest peak of B.C.'s Coast Mountains. Outfitted with hobnail boots, a fifty-pound wood-frame pack and only ice axes for safety, the one woman on the team is faced with the larger-than-life-legacy of Phyllis. Uncertainty and fear threaten to take over as she wonders if she can be as fearless as Phyl.
Illustrated with photographs from the Munday's original voyage and its modern re-enactment, it's sure to be a visual feast that will take you back in time.

ABOUT ME
Artist - Writer - Photographer
My name is Susanna Oreskovic and I am an observer. As a photographer and writer I communicate through image and word about things I see in the world. At times the story is right in front of us, at times forgotten or hidden but always there is a lesson or a perspective to be known.
I see myself as a modern day explorer, someone curious about how we view world we live in, how it has changed and what connects us through time. I live to be creative and seem to find the unconventional liberating. My opera of life is found in places off the beaten path. There is life in art and art reflects life. |
"In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality"
Alfred Steiglitz
